Ximena Peryea

Life is beautiful.

My photography is my homage to art installations I see all around us in nature and in man-made spaces: it is a curated collection of color pops, geometrics, textures and auras. I believe in the power of nature, color and composition to create happiness and serenity- it is an essential component of how I live my life.

I was born in Colombia and raised in New York City- the youngest of six. Our family immigrated to the United States and faced calamity from the onset with the untimely death of our father in 1968. It was through frequent exposure to the cultural richness of NYC that our valiant mother pulled us through the darkness.

I am a lover and seeker of art, always learning and being enriched from others creativity. My greatest photography teachers were my brother and sister. Formally, I am a graduate of Cornell University; School of Arts & Sciences.

My college sweetheart and I established our home in Texas- we have two sons.
